Abstract

Background: The labor process is a physiological process that occurs in women during their reproductive period,
but the labor process has a risk of complications. Based on SDKI data, 2020, there were 4% obstructed labor, 9%
prolonged labor, and 30.68% asphyxia. The impact of prolonged labor can cause various complications such as
infection, physical fatigue, dehydration, and asphyxia. Handling efforts that can be carried out by midwives are by
using non-pharmacological methods using the rebozo technique, which helps provide a wider pelvic space, and
helps the fetal head descend faster, thereby accelerating the progress of labor. This study aims to determine the
effect of the rebozo technique on the progress of labor in primigravida in the first active phase at the Bunda Nanie
Pratama Clinic, Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency in 2024. Method: This study design used a pre

data collection technique used primary data. The research instrument used observation sheets, partograph sheets,
and SOP sheets. The research time was carried out in March-August 2024. Data analysis was carried out
univariately and bivariately with the Wilcoxon test. Results: This study found that there was an effect of the rebozo
technique on the progress of labor in primigravida in the active phase of the first stage at the Bunda Nanie Pratama
Clinic, West Bandung Regency in 2024 with a p value of 0.001 <0.05. With an average value of 195 minutes, the
shortest time was 90 minutes and the longest was 370 minutes. Conclusion: It is recommended that the rebozo
technique can be implemented in labor care to optimize labor progress.
