Background: Bronchopneumonia is a respiratory tract infection that contributes to the highest mortality rates in children under the age of 2. According to UNICEF data (2018), the prevalence in Indonesia reaches 0.08%, with an incidence rate of 0.16% in toddlers and 0.05% in children aged 1–4 years. This disease is often caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or foreign objects and is at risk of causing respiratory failure. Inhalation therapy can be administered for bronchodilation and airway clearance in children. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of hot water steam therapy and eucalyptus oil in addressing ineffective airway clearance in patients with bronchopneumonia. Method: Case report approach. The subject of the study is AN. X (toddler age) who was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia and experienced a nursing problem in the form of ineffective airway clearance. The intervention was carried out by administering steam therapy with hot water and eucalyptus oil for 10 minutes, once a day for three days. Results: After the intervention, spontaneous yellow sputum production of 2-3 cc was observed, faint ronchi sounds, a body temperature of 36.6°C, and a respiratory rate of 38 breaths per minute. Conclusion: The application of hot steam therapy and eucalyptus oil proved effective in increasing effectiveness airway clearance with spontaneous sputum production, thereby helping to clear the respiratory tract.
