HUBUNGAN ANEMIA PADA IBU HAMIL DENGAN PANJANG BADAN BAYI BARU LAHIR DI TPMB Ny. I KABUPATEN CIANJUR TAHUN 2024

Abstract

Background: Anemia is a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin from normal limits so that it cannot fulfill its function as a carrier of sufficient oxygen to peripheral tissues. Inadequate maternal nutritional intake before pregnancy causes fetal growth disorders, causing babies to be born with short birth lengths. Objective: This research aims to determine the relationship between anemia in pregnant women and the body length of newborn babies at TPMB Ny I Cianjur Regency in 2024. Methods: This research is a quantitative research using an analytical survey using a cross sectional research design. The number of samples in the study was 30 babies. Sampling used the total sampling method. The research instrument used was a checklist sheet. Analysis uses the Chi Square test. Result:.The results of the study showed that all respondents who experienced anemia in pregnancy gave birth to babies with a birth length of <48 cm, namely 14 people (93.3%), a small percentage of respondents who experienced anemia in pregnancy gave birth to babies with a birth length of ≥48 cm. namely 1 person (6.7%), most of the respondents who did not experience anemia during pregnancy gave birth to babies with birth length <48 cm, namely 8 people (53.3%), and almost half of the respondents who did not experience anemia in pregnancy gives birth to babies with long birth weight ≥48 cm, namely 7 people (46.7%), there was a relationship between anemia in pregnant women and the body length of newborn babies with a p value of 0.035 < 0.05, the results of the analysis also obtained an OR value of 12.250 (1.268 – 118.362). Conclusion: From the research results it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between anemia in pregnancy and the body length of the newborn.
