HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK ORANG TUA TERHADAP POLA ASUH PADA ANAK USIA PRASEKOLAH DI PAUD TUNAS CENDIKIA KELURAHAN SAYANG KECAMATAN CIANJUR KABUPATEN CIANJUR

Abstract

Background: Parenting is a process of educating, guiding, disciplining, and protecting children to achieve maturity according to the norms in society. Parental characteristics refer to various aspects that describe themselves, both individually and as a couple that can influence parenting. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parental characteristics and parenting patterns of parents and parenting patterns of preschool children at PAUD Tunas Cendekia, Sayang Village, Cianjur District, Cianjur Regency in 2024.The research method used is a quantitative method. The type of data taken is primary data. This study took 20 parent respondents by total sampling. The data collection media is a standard questionnaire. The research analysis used univariate analysis to see the frequency distribution of respondent characteristics and bivariate analysis to see the frequency distribution of the relationship between parental characteristics and parenting patterns of parents and parenting patterns of preschool children at PAUD Tunas Cendekia, Sayang Village, Cianjur District, Cianjur Regency in 2024.The results of the study obtained that apply democratic parenting patterns, higher education 75%, low education 0%, working 5%, not working 70%, age <30 years 35%, age> 30 years 40%. Application of authoritarian parenting patterns, higher education 0%, low education 15%, working 0%, not working 15%, age <30 years 0%, age> 30 years 15%. Implementation of permissive parenting patterns high education 0%, low education 5%, working 5%, not working 5%, age <30 years 5%, age> 30 years 5%. From the results of statistical tests show p value =0.03      is smaller than α (0.05), which means Ho is rejected meaning there is a significant relationship between parental characteristics and parenting patterns. It is expected to be one of the input materials for research sites to form a correct parenting program.
