Background: Diastasis rectus abdominis (DRA) often occurs in postpartum mothers, which causes various complaints. Unfortunately, the mother of the birth victim has not received attention and treatment from health workers. This neglect is due to the lack of a firm consensus on the limitations of symptoms and clinical impact due to diastasis rectus abdominis among health workers. The purpose of this study is to describe the concept of discomfort due to DRA among postpartum mothers. Method: The Walker and Avant concept analysis method involves eight systematic steps. Literature searches use electronic databases, including ScienceDirect, MEDLINE, EBSCO, ProQuest, and SAGE, with a time limit of 2018 - 2024. Keywords include "diastasis rectus abdominis," "interrectus abdominis," "postpartum," and "impact." Result: The results of the literature search succeeded in identifying 88 articles, then selected 28 selected articles from the disciplines of obstetric and gynaecology, surgery, medical rehabilitation, physiotherapy, radiology, nursing, obstetrics, women's health, molecular medicine, biomedical science, plastic surgery and reconstruction, public health and neurosurgery. Discomfort is defined as primary and secondary discomfort. Primary symptoms include a distended abdomen, sagging and swaying abdomen, abdominal pain, especially during activity, kinesiophobia, disorders of self-concept, disturbed social interaction, and decreased quality of life. Secondary discomfort, including hunched posture, back pain and pelvic lumbar pain, spinal and pelvic instability, pelvic floor disorders and gastrointestinal disorders. Conclusion: This categorization is expected to provide a limit for agreeing on complaints so that it becomes a guide in clinical practice standards, which aim to improve nursing care for postpartum mothers to improve the quality of life and welfare.
