Background: Breast cancer is one of the diseases that causes death in women both globally and regionally due to late diagnosis. Early detection is a very important thing to do, namely by breast self examination (BSE), which can be done from the time a woman has her first menstruation. Breast cancer is also found in teenage girls. The rapid progress of technology has had a positive impact on the world of communication and information in increasing teenagers' knowledge, one of which is education using flashcards. This research aims to determine the effect of flashcard media on young women's knowledge about BSE Method: The research used a descriptive analytical method with a quasi experimental design with one group pretest posttest design. The research respondents for young women at SMA PGRI Katibung Regency were 32 respondents using purposive sampling. Knowledge data collection uses questionnaires and flashcard media. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately with the Wilcoxon T Test Result: The results of the study showed that the average knowledge score for young women before treatment was 9 to 20 after treatment. There is an influence of flashcard media on increasing knowledge (p-value=0.0001) Conclusion: It is recommended that flashcards can be used as an educational medium to educate young women about BSE as an effort to prevent breast cancer.
