Background: The 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) shows that the stunting rate among children under five is 21.5%. Stunting in children can have negative impacts in both the short and long term. Nurses have a role in increasing the knowledge and skills of parents, especially mothers, in fulfilling children's nutritional intake through education using audiovisual media and demonstrations. With this method, information can be conveyed verbally and non-verbally, and by simulation, knowledge, and skills can be better established. The research aimed to identify mothers' knowledge and ability to prepare a balanced nutritional menu before and after being given education using audiovisual media and demonstrations. Method: The research design used a pre-experimental one-group pretest and posttest, with the Wilcoxon hypothesis test. The research sample consisted of mothers with toddlers aged less than 2 years at Posyandu Tanjung A RW 14, Cigugur Village, North Cimahi, totaling 35 respondents. Result: Hypothesis testing resulted in a p-value = 0.000 (α < 0.05), meaning that there was an influence of education using audiovisual media and demonstrations on mothers' knowledge and ability to prepare a balanced nutritional menu for toddlers. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it is hoped that local health centers or health facilities can optimize periodic educational activities targeting individuals or groups to prevent malnutrition or stunting.
