PENGARUH KONSUMSI JUS TOMAT MERAH TERHADAP TEKANAN DARAH PADA LANSIA DENGAN HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS CIPEUNDEUY KABUPATEN SUBANG 2024

Background: hypertension is a disease nicknamed as "Silent Killer" because 90% of sufferers do not feel symptoms. Increasing age will occur physiological changes that have an impact on cardiovascular system disorders such as hypertension. Based on RIKESDAS data (2018) there are 5 provinces with the highest incidence of elderly hypertension, West Java Province occupies the second position with an incidence rate of 39.60%. The results of data from the Subang Regency Health Office (2024) there are 5 health centers with the first incidence of hypertensive elderly people, namely the Cipeundeuy Health Center with a total of 3012 cases. Objective: Research aims to determine the effect of red tomato juice consumption on blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Method: this research method is quantitative using quasy eskperiment design with a non-equivalent control group approach with non- random sampling techniques with a purposive sampling approach, the number of experimental group samples is 17 respondents and the control group of 16 respondents. Normality test results found normal data distribution, analysis using t-independent test. Result: based on the results of the analysis, there is an effect of red tomato juice consumption on the elderly with hypertension in the working area of the Cipeundeuy Health Center, Subang Regency with the experimental group's blood pressure value after being intervened by red tomato juice for 5 consecutive days resulting in a p value of 0.000 <α (0.05) and for the blood pressure value in the control group without red tomato juice intervention for 5 consecutive days yielding a p value of 0.000 <α (0,05). Conclusion: for the elderly with hypertension to continue the consumption of red tomato juice without mixing water and sugar effectively for a minimum of 5 days and for the dose 2x/day in a serving of 100 grams or 1 tomato to lower blood pressure to blood pressure in the normal range of 120/80 mmHg.
