Introduction: Padasuka Cimahi is a flood-prone area. The importance of increasing knowledge about disasters must be socialized, especially children of primary school age who still do not understand what to do if a disaster comes, to minimize casualties. This study aimed to determine the effect of educational animation videos on the knowledge and attitudes of 5th-grade children of SDN Padasuka Mandiri 2 Cimahi. Method: This quantitative research method uses a non-equivalent quasi-experimental design with a control group, (n=22) using a purposive sampling technique which has inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out, namely univariate and bivariate (Wilcoxon Test).Result: The results of the univariate analysis obtained mean pre-post knowledge of the intervention group at 64.50 and 81.50, and the pre-post control group at 66.50 and 74.50. Mean pre-post attitude 32.00 and 38.50, pre-post control group 31.00 and 34.00. There was a difference in the mean knowledge and attitude in the intervention group and control group. Wilcoxon test results show that there is an influence on student knowledge in the intervention and control groups with a P value of 0.001 and 0.057. There is an effect on attitude in the intervention and control groups with a P value of 0.019 and 0.073.Conclusion: The conclusion is that animated educational videos have an effect on flood disaster preparedness knowledge and attitudes of 5th-grade children of SDN Padasuka Mandiri 2 Cimahi. Suggestions for schools to provide educational tools in the form of animated videos related to flood disaster management, for students to be a reference for simulating flood disaster management to train student preparedness, and for nurses to become facilitators of flood disaster preparedness simulation activities.
