Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years of age as a result of chronic malnutrition. This results in children needing to be longer for their age. Malnutrition in children who experience stunting occurs from when the baby is in the womb until after birth, commonly called the First 1,000 Days of Life. Children who experience stunting up to the age of five will find it challenging to improve so that it continues into adulthood and increases the risk of offspring with LBW. Risk factors for stunting include 1) Mother's Education, 2) Mother's Height, 3) LBW, 4) Economic Factors, 5) Breastfeeding, 6) Mother's Nutritional Status, 7) Nutritional Deficiency, and 8) Infection. Method: This study used a quasi- experimental method with a pretest-posttest without a control group design. The population and sample in this study were all mothers who had babies-toddlers aged 0-60 months in the RW 10 area of Cibeber Village. The sampling technique used a total sampling of 60 mothers who have babies and toddlers.  Result: The results of data analysis using the Marginal homogeneity test obtained a p-value = 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that education about stunting by utilizing the "BERAKSI" application can increase maternal knowledge. Conclusion: The "BERAKSI" application can be used easily and at any time by parents, cadres, and health workers to conduct Growth, Development, Balanced Nutrition, and Parenting checks to improve parental knowledge. Families have an important role in preventing stunting at every stage of life. Families, especially parents, need to monitor growth and development regularly at the Posyandu to check the height and weight of babies and toddlers. If this is done routinely, it will be easier for mothers to recognize early symptoms of disorders in babies and toddlers so that early treatment can also be carried out.
