Background: Earthquakes are one of the most difficult natural disasters to predict, as there is no scientific method to accurately predict when an earthquake will occur. According to Article 55 of the Disaster Management Law of 2007, infants and children are among the vulnerable groups to be considered in disaster situations.. Children have limited abilities and resources to control or prepare themselves when a disaster occurs, they are afraid and therefore very dependent on others. Children are physically and emotionally dependent on adults. The main reason for the high number of child casualties in earthquakes is the lack of knowledge about disasters and how to deal with them. Objectives: This study aims to analyse the effect of animated cartoons on the knowledge of earthquake disaster preparedness among pre-school children. Methodology: This research is quantitative research, pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design, sample selection is done by non probability sampling technique with purposive sampling approach, the sample size is 54 respondents of pre-school children, namely children aged 4-6 years. Results: The median score before being given an animated cartoon is 4 and the median score after being given an animated cartoon is 11, the Wilcoxon statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is an effect of animated cartoons on earthquake disaster preparedness knowledge of preschool children.
