Background: The Global Tuberculosis Report 2022 reported that Tuberculosis cases in Indonesia reached 969,000 cases, an increase of 17% since 2020 which amounted to 824,000 cases. Tuberculosis is a contagious infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Symptoms that generally appear prolonged are shortness of breath which causes an increase in the frequency of breathing in patients. Pursed Lips Breathing is a non-pharmacological measure that can be applied to reduce shortness of breath, increase alveolus development so that pressure increases and induce normal breathing patterns. In addition, applying the semi-fowler position in patients with TB can help lung development and reduce pressure from the visceral-visceral abdomen on the diaphragm so that it can be lifted and the lungs will expand maximally and the volume of the lungs will not be fulfilled, therefore shortness of breath will decrease. Objective: was to determine the application of pursed lips breathing exercise techniques and semi-fowler position to the value of respiratory rate in pulmonary TB patients in X Hospital. Methods: descriptive research using a case report research design in the form of nursing care. Data collection methods in this study used interviews, observation, and physical examination techniques. Results: this study showed that the respiratory rate decreased after practicing the pursed lips breathing technique and semi-fowler position for 3 days with a respiratory rate of 26 x/min to 18 x/min. Conclusion: pursed lips breathing technique and semi-fowler position can reduce respiratory rate values in patients with shortness of breath.
Ririn Antya Okhvi

Background: Based on 2018 Global Burden of Cancer (GLOBOCAN) data, lung cancer ranks first in the number of new cases at 2.094 million cases worldwide. Delays in treating lung cancer will worsen the patient's condition and prognosis; the higher the stage of cancer when the patient first seeks treatment, the lower his life expectancy. The causes of this delay vary from low levels of education to unaffordable medical costs; therefore, it is important to choose appropriate and appropriate treatment-seeking behavior. Objective: This study is to analyze the relationship between predisposing factors and treatment-seeking behavior in lung cancer patients in hospitals. Lung Dr. H.A. Rotinsulu, Bandung. Method: Quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 70 lung cancer patients using the accidental sampling technique. The independent variable is predisposing factors, which include knowledge and attitudes, and the dependent variable is treatment-seeking behavior. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The test used is Spearman's rank. Results: Knowledge and attitude factors are related to treatment-seeking behavior with each p-value of 0.02. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes and treatment-seeking behavior in lung cancer patients at Dr. H. A. Rotinsulu Bandung. Low knowledge and negative attitudes cause respondents to prefer to treat their illnesses themselves when they feel the first symptoms rather than seeking treatment at modern/medical health facilities. Modern/medical treatment will only be carried out when the respondent does not feel cured or the condition of the disease gets worse after self-medicating. Thus, providing information and education about lung cancer and behavior in seeking appropriate treatment is really needed by patients in order to choose the right place for treatment.
Handhita Riasari FebrianiLinda HotmaidaWidawati Widawati

Background : Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease that can be spread through air exposed to Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. This disease can generally attack the lung organ which will then cause inflammation. Inflammation is a mechanism process carried out by the body in defending itself against foreign objects that enter the body. C-Reactive Protein is an acute protein produced by the liver and can be found in normal serum with a small amount, but will increase when given a stimulus such as infection, burns, and postoperative. Objective : to test CRP levels and determine the effect of temperature and storage time on CRP levels in the serum of Tuberculosis patients. Method : using Pre-experimental design one group pretest postest design, then data analysis using dependent T test and Wilcoxon test. This study conducted qualitative and semi-quantitative CRP examination on serum stored at room temperature (20-25℃) and refrigerator temperature (2-8℃) for 24 and 48 hours. Results : The results obtained at refrigerator temperature showed that the p-value> 0.05 had no significant relationship with serum stored in 24 and 48 hours. At room temperature, the p-value <0.05 is known to have a significant relationship. Conclusion : In this study, there was no effect on sample storage temperature on CRP levels examined at 0, 24, and 48 hours in the serum of tuberculosis patients. There was an effect on the length of sample storage on CRP levels examined at 0, 24, and 48 hours in the serum of tuberculosis patients.
Sally DestaGina KhairinisaAcep TantanPatricia Gita Naully
