Awareness among adolescents about the importance of maintaining reproductive health remains low, potentially impacting their long-term health quality. Furthermore, inadequate education on BSE (Breast Self-Examination) is a contributing factor to delayed early detection of breast cancer in women. Addressing these issues requires effective educational interventions to enhance students' understanding and skills regarding reproductive health and BSE. The primary goal of this study is to provide health education to students on reproductive health and BSE training and to measure their understanding levels. Objective: To provide reproductive health education and BSE training to students and evaluate its effectiveness in improving their understanding. Methods: This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 88 students selected using a total sampling technique. The variables analyzed included knowledge levels before and after the intervention. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests to identify significant changes. Results: The findings revealed a significant increase in students' knowledge levels regarding reproductive health and BSE following the educational intervention. Prior to the intervention, 45% of participants demonstrated low knowledge levels, which improved to 85% showing high knowledge levels post-intervention (p < 0.05). Female students also exhibited better comprehension of BSE techniques and the importance of early breast cancer detection. Conclusion: Reproductive health education and BSE training significantly enhanced high school students' knowledge levels. This intervention is recommended as a sustainable program to increase awareness and skills for early breast cancer detection among adolescents.
Fahmi Fuadah, Gurdani Yogisutanti, Tri Ardayani, Neti Sitorus, Linda Hotmaida Copyright (c) 2024 PIN-LITAMAS IV http://ejournal.stikesjayc.id/index.php/PLT/article/view/341 Mon, 30 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0700 PELATIHAN BANTUAN HIDUP DASAR UNTUK MASYARAKAT AWAM: WARGA SIAGA DI SAAT SITUASI DARURAT http://ejournal.stikesjayc.id/index.php/PLT/article/view/345
As heart disease rates continue to rise in society, it is essential to prepare for awareness and prevention to avoid more severe conditions and even death. The lack of public knowledge about heart disease and its treatment needs to be improved to prepare for unexpected cases. This community service aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of health cadres in performing basic life support (BLS) for the general public, ensuring that citizens are ready for emergency situations. Education is provided through lectures, while BLS training is conducted through live demonstrations on mannequins by facilitators from students. To evaluate the success of the community service activity, a Q&A session is held at the end, followed by participants practicing BLS on mannequins based on the material given. BLS education and training play a crucial role in improving community preparedness for medical emergencies. This training equips individuals with essential first aid skills for victims of cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. The program also helps the community respond more quickly to accidents or heart attacks, reducing mortality from urgent medical conditions. BLS training boosts participants' confidence in handling emergencies, which is often hindered by fear or uncertainty. Rapid response time is critical, as initiating resuscitation promptly can reduce brain damage and increase the chances of patient recovery. The community service carried out by IKI lecturers has proven to improve the knowledge and skills of health cadres in providing BLS for the general public, making communities more prepared for emergency situations.
Monika Ginting, Srihesty Manan, Galuh Chandra Irawan, Juliyanti Juliyanti, Yeni Komala, Gurdani Yogisutanti Copyright (c) 2024 PIN-LITAMAS http://ejournal.stikesjayc.id/index.php/PLT/article/view/345 Mon, 30 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0700 HUBUNGAN POLA ASUH ORANG TUA DENGAN PICKY EATER PADA ANAK USIA PRASEKOLAH http://ejournal.stikesjayc.id/index.php/PLT/article/view/346
Picky eater is the behavior of someone who chooses food. Parental parenting styles play a role in children's habits, including eating patterns. Parental parenting patterns are one of the factors that influence picky eaters. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and picky eaters in preschool children. The research method used is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The total sample was 69 people using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection uses a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out, namely univariate (Frequency Distribution) and bivariate (Chi Square). Based on the results of the analysis using the Chi Square test showed that of the 69 respondents, 58% of the parents had poor parenting styles and 40,6% of the children were moderate picky eaters, while the bivariate results obtained a p value = 0.001 <0.05. The team leader must be able to make decisions about the priority of planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating nursing care. The implementation of the team's concept depends very much on the philosophy of the team leader, namely whether it is task oriented or on the client. The purpose of this study is to identify the analysis of factors influencing clinical decision making of the team leader at Pakuwon Sumedang Hospital. This shows that people are not yet fully aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle which results in the risk of developing complications caused by DMT2 in the future. The next problem is that many DMT2 sufferers still do not routinely carry out glycemic control so that HbA1c levels increase. Uncontrolled DMT2 can cause acute or chronic complications such as atherosclerosis where chronic inflammation is characterized by increased fibrinogen levels and the formation of rolling which can affect the value of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between erythrocyte sedimentation rate and HbA1 levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Kebonjati Hospital. Methods: The research design used was cross sectional. Samples were taken from 52 respondents suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus at Kebonjati Hospital. Data was collected from examining ESR values and HbA1c levels by analyzing using the Independent T test. Results:The research results obtained HbA1c levels ≤ 8.0% for 26 respondents with high ESR values in 19 people (9 women and 10 men) and normal ESR in 7 people (4 women and 3 men). Meanwhile, HbA1c levels ≥ 8.0% were 26 respondents with high ESR values (19 women and 7 men). Conclusion: The conclusion of this study shows that there is a correlation between ESR values and HbA1c levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Kebonjati Hospital with a value of p=0.000 (p<0.05).
N. The results of data from the Subang Regency Health Office (2024) there are 5 health centers with the first incidence of hypertensive elderly people, namely the Cipeundeuy Health Center with a total of 3012 cases.
