Abstract

Backgroud: Dust is the most important component of allergens in the air, especially dust containing mites or what is often referred to as House Dust Mites which can cause allergic reactions in the respiratory tract and skin such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. bedroom carpet, the most common types of TDR are Dhermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae. Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of house dust mites, as well as the type and density of house dust mites in the bedrooms of TLM students (D4) with allergic diseases. Methods: The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Results: The results showed that the mattress and bedroom carpet dust samples were positive for house dust mites, with an average density found on the mattress. Conclusion: The types of TDR found were D. pteronyssinus, D. farinae, Dermatophagoides sp. which are not categorized, the most common type is D. pteronyssinus, and the highest density is on mattresses with an average of 123.4 mites/gram dust and the lowest density is on carpets with an average of 93.8 mites/gram dust.
